It’s one of the first questions I get asked, and it’s completely understandable: how much is this actually going to cost me?
The frustrating reality is that most CCTV installers won’t tell you until they’ve spent an hour at your property, and even then the quote often comes with caveats — day rates, call-out charges, ongoing monitoring fees, and annual contracts that quietly add up over time. It makes a straightforward purchasing decision feel unnecessarily complicated.
So in this guide, I’m going to do something a bit different. I’m going to give you our actual prices, explain exactly what’s included, and walk you through the factors that influence cost so you can figure out what kind of system you need before you pick up the phone.
No day rates. No hidden extras. No surprises.
What Affects the Cost of a CCTV System?
Before I get to the numbers, it’s worth understanding the three main things that drive the cost of any CCTV installation:
1. Camera technology — Entry-level cameras capture good footage in daylight. Higher-spec cameras capture full-colour images in near-total darkness, distinguish between humans and vehicles using AI, and can actively deter intruders with built-in lights and speakers. The technology you choose has the biggest impact on price.
2. Number of cameras — More cameras means more hardware and more installation time. A single camera covering a front door is the starting point; a four-camera system covering all entry points, a driveway, and a garden is the most common choice for a typical semi-detached or detached home.
3. Installation complexity — Running cables through cavity walls, across lofts, or over long distances takes more time. Most domestic installations are straightforward, but it’s worth flagging anything unusual (very old buildings, complex layouts, listed properties) at survey stage.
According to Checkatrade, the average CCTV installation cost in the UK in 2026 is around £550, with professionally installed systems ranging from £350 for a basic setup to well over £2,000 for a complex multi-camera arrangement. Our packages sit comfortably within that range — and unlike many installers, every price you see below includes everything: hardware, installation, app setup, and a warranty. What you see is what you pay.
Our Fixed-Price CCTV Packages
At Duke Security Systems, we offer five tiers of Hikvision CCTV system, each available in 1, 2, 3, or 4 camera configurations. Here’s a breakdown of what each tier offers and what it costs, fully installed. All prices are plus VAT.
🥉 Bronze — Full-Colour Night Vision (Analogue)
Our entry-level package uses Hikvision’s 5-megapixel ColorVu turret cameras — analogue cameras that capture full-colour footage even in the dark, thanks to a small built-in LED light. They’re connected to a 1TB DVR recorder with motion detection and smart playback.
This is the right system for someone who wants reliable, good-quality coverage at a straightforward price — ideal for a front door, driveway, or back garden.
- ✅ 1 Camera: £384 + VAT installed
- ✅ 2 Cameras: £496 + VAT installed
- ✅ 3 Cameras: £600 + VAT installed
- ✅ 4 Cameras: £760 + VAT installed
🥈 Silver — Ultra-Low Light (Analogue)
The Silver tier upgrades to Hikvision’s 5MP Ultra-Low Light cameras, which use a motorised vari-focal lens (2.7–13.5mm) to zoom in on specific areas with precision. These cameras retain a full-colour image down to 0.003 lux — effectively pitch black — without any additional lighting or IR beams.
The adjustable lens makes these ideal for driveways where you need to capture number plates at a distance, or any area where a fixed wide-angle camera wouldn’t quite reach what you need.

- ✅ 2 Cameras: £520 + VAT installed
- ✅ 3 Cameras: £760 + VAT installed
- ✅ 4 Cameras: £956 + VAT installed
🥇 Gold — IP Darkfighter Technology
The Gold tier moves to IP (network) cameras, transmitting footage over CAT5e cable for significantly greater bandwidth and image clarity. These 4MP Darkfighter cameras are among the best low-light performers available — capturing crisp, detailed footage in near-total darkness using Hikvision’s dedicated ultra-low light sensor technology.
The Gold system records to an 8MP NVR with AI-powered motion detection, line crossing alerts, and human and vehicle recognition analytics — meaning you only get alerted when it matters.
- ✅ 1 Camera: £440 + VAT installed
- ✅ 2 Cameras: £600 + VAT installed
- ✅ 3 Cameras: £760 + VAT installed
- ✅ 4 Cameras: £1,080 + VAT installed
💎 Platinum — AcuSense with Audio (IP)
The Platinum tier is where the technology takes a significant step forward. These 4MP ColorVu AcuSense cameras combine full-colour night vision with Hikvision’s AI-powered human and vehicle detection — so the system can tell the difference between a person walking across your driveway and a fox, and alert you accordingly. Each camera also has a built-in microphone for audio recording.
This is the system I’d recommend for most homeowners who want a genuinely capable, future-proof setup. It records to a 12MP NVR with 2TB of storage.
- ✅ 1 Camera: £600 + VAT installed
- ✅ 2 Cameras: £808 + VAT installed
- ✅ 3 Cameras: £1,000 + VAT installed
- ✅ 4 Cameras: £1,208 + VAT installed
💎+ Platinum+ — 4K Active Deterrence (IP)
Our top-tier system is built around Hikvision’s 8MP (4K) AcuSense cameras with two-way audio and active deterrence. These cameras don’t just record — they respond. When a human or vehicle is detected in a defined zone, the camera activates a built-in strobe light and plays a pre-recorded warning message. The system can intercept an incident before it becomes a break-in.
Each camera has a built-in microphone and speaker, meaning you can also issue live voice warnings remotely via the app. This is the system of choice for businesses, high-value properties, and homeowners who want the most capable protection available.
- ✅ 1 Camera: £680 + VAT installed
- ✅ 2 Cameras: £956 + VAT installed
- ✅ 3 Cameras: £1,160 + VAT installed
- ✅ 4 Cameras: £1,436 + VAT installed
What’s Included in Every Package
Every system we install — at every price point — includes the following as standard:
- ✅ Professional installation at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends
- ✅ Full network and app configuration — you’ll be able to view your cameras on your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop before we leave
- ✅ Police assistance — if you’re the victim of a crime, we’ll help you download footage and provide it to the police
- ✅ 3-year parts warranty
- ✅ 1-year remote servicing — if your system develops a fault, we’ll fix it remotely at no charge
- ✅ No ongoing contracts — no monthly fees, no monitoring charges, no hidden costs
This last point is worth emphasising. Many larger security companies generate significant recurring revenue through mandatory monitoring contracts. We don’t. The technology to notify you directly is built into every system we install, and there’s no subscription required to use it. What you pay for the installation is what you pay — full stop.
What Are the Hidden Costs to Watch Out For?
If you’re comparing quotes from multiple installers, here are the charges that don’t always appear in headline prices:
- ❌ Day rates — some installers quote labour separately at £150–£300 per day, on top of hardware costs
- ❌ Cloud storage subscriptions — some systems require a monthly fee (typically £3–£15 per camera) to store footage. All our systems record locally to a hard drive included in the package price
- ❌ Monitoring contracts — annual contracts for remote monitoring can add £180–£600 per year, every year
- ❌ App access fees — some manufacturers charge for remote viewing. Hikvision app access is free for life on every system we install
- ❌ Call-out charges — if something goes wrong and you’re not covered by a service agreement, call-out charges can be significant. Our 1-year remote servicing is included in every package
Which Package Is Right for Me?
Here’s how I’d summarise it:
If you want solid, reliable coverage at the best possible price, the Bronze or Silver tier will serve you well. If you want IP-quality footage with AI detection and minimal false alerts, the Gold tier is the sweet spot for most homes. If you want the most capable system available — with audio recording, human detection, and the ability to actively warn intruders — go Platinum or Platinum+.
That said, the honest answer is that the right system depends on your specific property, your entry points, and what you’re most concerned about protecting. That’s exactly what a free survey is for.
